Salaat (Prayer) is one of the main obligations which Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) has ordained on His servants. It is the first act of worship decreed on the Muslim Nation (Ummah) by Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and was ordained on the night of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) ascension to the seven heavens. It is the second of the five pillars of Islam after the proclamation of the “Shahada” (the words of witness).

This is a very useful book contains important information despite its few pages. It shows how to perform the second pillar of Islam i.e. prayer. At first, the author some words from book "The Dispraise of Desire" authored by Ibn Al-Qayyem. Then he talks about some issues pertaining to prayer e.g. meaning of prayer, its merits, its times and conditions should be met before performing it. It is characterized by containing audio sections showing what is said during the prayer.

Many people are unaware of what the etiquette of a Muslim on Friday should be and most are unaware of its significance. Most do not consider the Friday Prayer as obligatory, hence they miss it intentionally. Many people in Islamic countries are on holiday on this day, so then spend their time sleeping, or in other activities that cause them to neglect the Friday prayer altogether.
